Stone carpet installation

Natural stone aggregate bound in a transparent resin and trowelled at 8–20 mm. Our team mixes on site in a forced-action mixer and lays batch by batch, so the material is always worked fresh.

Laying by our team: AED 173 per m² (AED 165 + VAT), on top of the materials. Site inspection free.

What we check first

  • Falls and drainage — water must run off the slab beneath the stone, not sit under it
  • A cured, sound concrete slab or screed, free of loose layers
  • Waterproofing on balconies, roofs over rooms and pool bowls
  • Thresholds, drains and edges, so the finished level meets doors and coping

How the work runs

  1. Grind or clean the slab, repair cracks
  2. 2K Epoxy Primer where the concrete needs it, broadcast with quartz sand and left to cure; waterproofing membrane where required
  3. Aggregate and binder mixed 2 + 2 min, trowelled to depth
  4. PU Sealer Semi-Gloss or Acrylic Sealer Matte where the surface is sealed — always in pool bowls — then curing

Microcement application

A seamless mineral coating trowelled by hand in thin passes, 2–3 mm in total. The finish depends on the applicator more than on any other material, so once microcement is on sale we will introduce applicators who trowel it routinely.

Epoxy floor installation

A resin floor laid over a ground concrete slab: rolled BASE at 0.3–0.5 mm or self-levelling PRO at 2–3 mm. Preparation decides how long it lasts, so grinding is part of every installation. Once epoxy is on sale, we will introduce installers who lay it.

A Glürex specialist reads the request, calls you back and arranges the free site inspection.

  • The area in m² — rough is fine
  • What the surface is now: slab, screed, tiles, plaster
  • Indoors or outdoors, wet or dry, what traffic it takes
  • Two or three photos — send them on WhatsApp after the form

Forced-action mixer

Laying it yourself?

Materials, a mixer and a specialist for the first pour

Every stone carpet component is sold separately. The binder has to be mixed in a forced-action mixer — buy one, or rent it by the day or week — and a Glürex specialist can join your team for the first pour.

Installers and contractors

Lay Glürex systems on your projects

Trade accounts get volume pricing, material held against your programme and support on site for the first pour. Installers who lay resin floors can also join us: we pass client work on to the installers we work with.

Working with us

Questions before you book

Does Glürex install the material itself?

Stone carpet, yes: our own team lays it in all seven emirates, for AED 173 per m² (AED 165 + VAT) on top of the materials, after a free site inspection. Microcement and epoxy are coming soon; once they are on sale, we introduce installers who lay them.

Can one installer lay stone carpet, microcement and epoxy?

The trades are different: stone carpet is mixed and trowelled thick, microcement is trowelled in thin passes, epoxy starts with grinding a slab. Stone carpet is laid by our own team; for microcement and epoxy, once they are on sale, we match each surface with an installer who lays that material routinely.

Which emirates do you cover?

All seven: Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman, Umm Al Quwain, Ras Al Khaimah and Fujairah. Our team travels to each of them, and the materials are delivered from Sharjah Media City — see Delivery and Returns.

How long does an installation take?

It depends on the area, the preparation and the curing time of the system. On stone carpet the binder is worked within 40 minutes of mixing, so the surface goes down batch by batch, and light foot traffic is usually possible the next day; we give the schedule after the site inspection. For the ranges coming soon: microcement goes on in passes 12 hours apart and reaches full cure in 72 hours; epoxy takes foot traffic after 24 hours and vehicles after 48 hours on BASE or 3–5 days on PRO.

Who guarantees the work?

Stone carpet laid by our team carries a 12-month workmanship warranty from handover, provided the materials were supplied by Glürex, the substrate was accepted at the site inspection and the surface has been in normal use. The materials are supplied to their technical data sheets.

Can I buy the materials and install them myself?

Yes. Every stone carpet component is sold separately in the catalogue, a forced-action mixer can be bought or rented, and a Glürex specialist can supervise the first pour with your team.

Can the work be done in summer?

Yes, with planning. Heat shortens working times — the stone carpet binder has 40 minutes of pot life — so we mix smaller batches, keep the materials in the shade and work the cooler hours. Outdoor surfaces and pool bowls are scheduled around the surface temperature.

What should I prepare before the visit?

Clear access to the area, power and water nearby, and anything you know about the substrate: age of the slab, existing tiles, waterproofing, underfloor heating. Have a colour in mind — stone carpet samples cost AED 35 each and can be ordered in advance.
